Metec West Africa Limited: A Leader in Local Content Manufacturing
Metec West Africa Limited was incorporated in November 2006 as a joint venture between the promoters of Nigerian Foundries Limited (NFL) and Mr. Massimo Via. The company was established in response to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)’s 2002 initiative to boost local content manufacturing and industrial capacity within the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry.
Recognizing this drive, the Oil & Gas sector specifically approached the promoters of NFL, encouraging them to partner with a technical expert to produce sacrificial anodes locally.
Metec West Africa successfully set up a non-ferrous foundry, and its initial trial production was conducted with crucial support from ExxonMobil and Deltafrik (a Worley Parsons Company).
Today, Metec West Africa Limited, part of the Nigerian Foundries Group, is an African leader in castings, serving a diverse range of sectors including Oil & Gas, Marine, Power, Mining, Cement, and Quarry Industries.
